CJ Edwards

CJ Edwards enters his third season as Assistant Coach on the Monte Vista coaching staff leading coaching operations in sprints, hurdles and jumps event groups.

The 2022 outdoor season notably saw Edwards guide Cate Peters to break school records in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m including breaking the 800m meet record at the 2022 Mt. Sac Relays with a time of 2:06.89. Edwards also helped guide Adam Wright to place third at the 2022 CIF State Track and Field finals in the 110mHH with a time of 14.17.

Edwards’ sprints squad truly started to take form in his second year with Monte Vista. Edwards helped guide our girls team to an EBAL title for the first time in school history. Most notably,Cate Peters placed first in the 100m, 200m, 400, 800m scoring 40 points on her own.

Prior to coaching at Monte Vista, Edwards competed for UC Davis Track and Field and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Science and Engineering.
